Isaiah 28:10

This collection of jars and vases was created for the Gallery41 show in Owego, New York, and was inspired by the ancient Dead Sea Scrolls and by the biblical Hebrew texts of Isaiah concerning justice. Each jar or vase has a small section of text from Isaiah inscribed on the side. The piece’s name is the reference’s name, and both the Hebrew and English translations are provided below, along with the dimensions.

 

I always enjoyed studying and reading both Ancient Near Eastern and biblical literature. This special collection of Isaiah “Line Upon Line” of jars and vases was made by my own hand on the pottery wheel and fired and refined in the gas kilns at Creek Road Pottery in Laceyville, PA, along the cold Tuscarora creek. All Hebrew texts were also inscribed by my own hand on the work. I do hope a few folks enjoy the collection.
