Collection Description:

Chawan Tea Cup Collection
About:
The Chawan Tea cups and bowls were used in the Japanese tea ceremony and come in different shapes and sizes. For more information on the topic of Chawan click here.
I was happy with the purchase of a used treadle wheel. I created this collection for a show I was scheduled for at the Slanted Art Gallery in Montrose, PA. In this collection, I was experimenting with the simple line and form I was getting from the treadle wheel. Also, I enjoyed putting texture on the bottoms of most of these, and when set on a flat surface, the shapes created by the altered foot were also interesting to me. The teacup in the featured image is owned by a private collector.
